work work workI've been doing a lot of non-ferret work (see www.topicaltees.com) and I nearly forgot to do the Ferret News Newsletter. I realized yesterday that I was supposed to have at least started it. So I spent all day today writing it. It's up at:http://www.ferretnews.com/issues/ferret-news-59.html I have to go play with Gabby now. She's bored because I've been up here writing ferrety stuff all day. That's about it. --Mary Tuesday, March 16, 2004

Dream VisitsI had a visit from Bosco in a dream last night. It may sound corny, but I know it was him. A month or so ago I had a visit from Balthazar in a dream. I had talked to a bunch of ferret friends after Bal's visit, and it seems that a lot of people get dream visits from pets who have passed on.I needed the reminder of how beautiful and full of joy Bosco was. All I've been thinking about lately is how sad it is to lose a ferret, especially after a long illness. Bosco's dream visit reminded me why I have ferrets in the first place. It also makes me miss him. The grieving process is different for each person. Some grieve quickly, some slowly. Some grieve forever, but live with the grief. Grieving is different for each loss. We may grieve deep and long for a young ferret, but more quickly for an older one. We may grieve the loss of a "favorite" longer no matter how long he or she lived. Certainly we miss each one for his or her particular traits. Bosco was my climb-on-me boy. He was only four when he died. He was a sweet and gentle ferret. In my dream last night, Bosco was climbing on me as I was in bed, looking at me with those giant dark-pool eyes. I held him and felt his soft fur, his lithe muscled body (we always called him "most limber boy"). I miss him this morning, but I find myself remembering all the joy. For the first time in a long time, I'm feeling happy to have known Bosco. ![]() Bosco da Gama as a kit Just thought I'd share that with you. --Mary Tuesday, March 09, 2004
Newsletter #57 Is OnlineCheck it out at: http://www.ferretnews.com/issues/ferret-news-57.html I'm going to try to get out one newsletter per week -- every Tuesday. We'll see how it goes. In the meantime, Gabby is really enjoying being out all the time. I just wish she was a people ferret -- she really doesn't like to cuddle. It's a shame that the cutest ones are the ones who prefer to keep you at arm's length. --Mary Monday, March 01, 2004
